Once again DOCA reminds us what the true meaning of a kitchen is. Once again this avant-garde Spanish company presents us with a space where the kitchen, as a tool, is only the excuse to enjoy higher sensations. Spaces where flavours and aromas share the same protagonism as words, emotions, music and art. Exactly the same importance.
DOCA proposes that we cook with maximum comfort and cleanliness, with absolute precision, but that we do it as if we were in any other favourite place in our home; in the library, in the studio, in the living room,… That’s the philosophy. And it also tells us about time and how little it means when it passes between good stews and excellent conversation.
To materialize these premises, DOCA presents this year five new kitchen spaces based on the poetry of gastronomy and visual pleasure. Their proposal Lavelet Negresco Leather, with that pictorial frontis engraved in natural stone, is precisely the clearest example of that vital need we all have for art, for beauty.
And in some cases, such as in his model Magma Ata New Factory 2, this poetic mixture combines steel and new technical materials with the wood of an oak tree more than a thousand years old or the polished stone worktop with incrustations of authentic fossils. Because time is another poetic element very present in the kitchen. Time to reach the optimum point of a dish, time to listen and talk, time to look and contemplate, to taste, to think. Time.
At the DOCA stand we saw electronic mechanisms and the latest “almost spatial” materials together with noble woods and stones from another time. An enormous gastronomic potential has been revealed, because everything has been designed so that culinary talent shines with intensity and success. But above all there is serenity and harmony. Two fundamental concepts for a space that is mainly due to sensations.
In 1980, DOCA decided to use all its technological and design resources to ensure that this space called the kitchen obtained the architectural importance it deserves. At Eurocucina 2018, DOCA has also certified that its production systems are perfectly compatible with sustainable environmental management. This is the future.
